Branded tour will feature Mario, Pokémon, Kirby and other Nintendo characters.

Nintendo has unveiled plans for its upcoming Play Nintendo Tour in the U.S.

The 12-city tour will visit malls and other locations across the U.S. and will feature contests, prizes and photo opportunities with an oversized Yoshi egg, a huge Kirby figure and more.

The tour will also include playable Nintendo 3DS games with characters such as Mario, Kirby and Donkey Kong and will include areas dedicated to “Mario Kart 7,” “Pokémon Omega Ruby,” “Pokémon Alpha Sapphire,” “Super Mario Bros. 2,” and “Yo-Kai Watch.” 

The summer event will also extend online with various activities on the Play Nintendo website.

“With the Play Nintendo Tour, there’s a surprise around every corner for kids and kids at heart,” says Scott Moffitt, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Nintendo of America. “The tour’s massive play area is filled with Nintendo 3DS games and charming worlds themed around classic games and characters.”

The Play Nintendo Tour is scheduled to visit the following cities:

  • Westfield Culver City¬–Los Angeles, Calif.

  • Arrowhead Towne Center–Glendale, Ariz.

  • FlatIron Crossing–Broomfield, Colo.

  • Mall of America–Bloomington, Minn.

  • Bite of Seattle–Seattle, Wash.

  • Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina–San Diego, Calif.

  • Memorial City Hall–Houston, Texas

  • Woodfield Mall–Schaumburg, Ill.

  • Roosevelt Field–Garden City, N.Y.

  • South Shore Plaza–Tysons Corner, Va.

  • North Point Mall–Alpharetta, Ga.
