Nickelodeon Details New ‘Sunny Day’ Toys

Mattel is on board to release the first wave of products for the Nickelodeon animated series.

NORTH AMERICA–Nickelodeon has teamed up with Mattel to roll out a host of new products inspired by its animated series “Sunny Day” this August.

The new toy line, which is inspired by Sunny and her friends Rox and Blair, will include basic and deluxe doll assortments, accessories, plush, role play and play sets. It will be available exclusively at Walmart this May before rolling out to additional retailers in August. In addition to the upcoming toy line, Nickelodeon will kick off the “Sunny Day Tour” at the Bentonville Film Festival in May. The tour will visit select Walmart stores across the country and will feature immersive activities, a product showcase and content screenings.

“Sunny Day’ is a show that celebrates individuality and self-expression, and we wanted our new toy line to embody these empowering characteristics,” says Jennifer Caveza, senior vice president, toys, Nickelodeon Consumer Products. “Created with Mattel, these products invite fans of the show to express their creativity, whether that’s through hair styling on the dolls or by recreating adventures in Sunny’s salon-on-the-go Glam Van.”

In addition, Nickelodeon will roll out a variety of consumer products for “Sunny Day” later this year including apparel and accessories, arts and crafts, consumer electronics, games and puzzles, home goods, novelty, publishing and home entertainment, ride ons and sporting goods, social expressions and RC vehicles.

Pam Kaufman, chief marketing officer and president, consumer products, Nickelodeon, and Sijata Luther, executive vice president, consumer insights, Nickelodeon, will deliver the closing keynote address, entitled “The Story of Me – Insights into Kids Today,” at the NYC Licensing Summit, taking place Feb. 20 at the Times Square Convene Events venue in New York City.
