Nickelodeon is gearing up to kick off its summer-long play campaign with a slime-filled tour as part of the network’s Worldwide Day of Play initiative.
The tour will bring a host of activities–including Nick-themed games, a slime booth, costume characters and more–to events in cities including Phoenix, Ariz.; St. Louis, Mo.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Oakland, Calif.; and Brooklyn, N.Y. Each event is created in partnership with non-profit organizations and foundations.
“Our summer events each year have helped magnify our Worldwide Day of Play initiative, connecting us with new partners and communities across the country that work to encourage kids and families to seek out active play,” says Marva Smalls, executive vice president, public affairs, and chief of staff, Nickelodeon Group. “We’re proud to be able to launch another summer-long campaign, teaming up with exceptional organizations to celebrate kids’ love of play while showcasing its importance to their daily lives.”
Nick’s 15th annual Worldwide Day of Play will take place Saturday, Sept. 29. During the event, Nickelodeon and its sister channels will suspend programming and host grassroots activities with its partners across the U.S. to encourage kids to go outside and get active.
