Nickelodeon has greenlit a new project that will yield two new series: an English-language, globally commissioned production titled "The Ludwigs" and "De Ludwigs," a Dutch-language production commissioned by Nickelodeon Netherlands. Both shows will be filmed and produced in Amsterdam in 2016 and will share the same scripts and production sets.

“We create content that kids everywhere love, so it is only fitting that we are now producing and developing content on every continent where they live,” says Russell Hicks, president, content development and production, Nickelodeon Group. “Expanding productions to other parts of the world allows us to tap into new talent and creative opportunities in every corner of the globe. These new productions are a great example of how the alignment of our development teams into one global unit has allowed us to create a diverse slate of content to satisfy any creative need in the ever changing landscape.”

Produced by Blooming Media, the new series will follow the comedic adventures of five foster children who are on a quest to find out what happened to their foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig, after they mysteriously disappear. "De Ludwigs" will air on Nickelodeon Netherlands in spring 2016, and "The Ludwigs" will begin airing on Nickelodeon channels globally in the second half of 2016.
