Viacom International Media Networks Asia has opened the doors of its first retail store in Malaysia, in advance of the debut of the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon theme park.

The Nickelodeon store was opened last week with the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon theme park area set to open early in 2015. Both attractions are part of Malaysia’s Sunway Lagoon theme park.

The 1,700-square-foot Nickelodeon store is Nickelodeon’s first retail launch on the continent. It will be branded in Nick’s signature orange and carry an extensive range of Nickelodeon merchandise including t-shirts, slippers, stationery, school supplies, toys, apparel, branded drinks, party items, homewares and more.

“As we continue our strategic relationship with Sunway, I am really excited that Malaysia is joining our growing list of international retail destinations, expanding the Nickelodeon branded experience in Asia,” says Gerald Raines, senior vice president of recreation business development, Nickelodeon.

Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon is expected to feature more than 12 attractions within a branded entertainment park that will span 10 acres of tropical rainforest, intended to echo a hidden world.

“We have experienced a lot of exciting times here at Sunway Lagoon with over 20 years in operation, having provided a unique experience for visitors of all ages. The opening of the Nickelodeon retail store will certainly give families an exclusive opportunity to get a gist of what to expect from the upcoming Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon, which will open in the first half of 2015,” says Sean Choo, general manager, Sunway Lagoon.
