Viacom’s Nickelodeon Family entertainment centers will open doors first in Spain.

Viacom International Media Networks has partnered with leisure park operator Parques Reunidos to bring Nickelodeon Family entertainment centers to Europe in 2017.

“Our goal at Nickelodeon is to be everywhere kids are, and we’re excited to diversify our portfolio to bring the Nickelodeon brand and characters to life through these new family entertainment centers,” says Gerald Raines, senior vice president, global recreation, VIMN. “Parques Reunidos has been a great partner and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship to create another great entertainment experience for families in Europe.”

The family entertainment centers will include interactive activities, an adventure zone, character meet-and-greets and Nickelodeon-themed rooms for parties. The space will also have a dedicated food and beverage area and a Nickelodeon retail space.

The first family entertainment center will open in Murcia, Spain, next year.

VIMN and Parques Reunidos have already paired for live spaces including the Nickelodeon Land at Parque de Atracciones in Madrid and NickLand at Movie Park in Germany. This deal will mark the companies’ first foray in the family entertainment center business.

“We look forward to bringing this new entertainment experience to shopping malls in collaboration with Nickelodeon and its characters,” says Fernando Eiroa, chief executive officer, Parques Reunidos. “We are certain that Nickelodeon’s magic, in such an innovative and unique space, will become a significant landmark for local residents, not only in Murcia but also the surrounding area, replicating our success with Nickelodeon Land at Madrid’s Parque de Atracciones and NickLand at Movie Park Germany.”
