GLOBAL–Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products has partnered with Wise Toys to introduce several lines of branded smart toys utilizing augmented reality.

Under the terms of the agreement, Wise Toys will release three of its smart toys lines–Wise Pet, an AR coloring/activity book and an AR activity box set. The first collection, Wise Pet, will feature “Paw Patrol,” “Shimmer and Shine,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and “Blaze and the Monster Machines.” The Wise Pet is a soft toy that doubles as a smartphone and tablet protector that “comes to life” with a free app, which will also feature Nickelodeon content and activities.

Meanwhile, the Wise Toys AR coloring book and activity books will highlight “SpongeBob SquarePants,” “Dora the Explorer,” “Dora and Friends,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “Nella the Princess Knight.” The high-tech coloring books enable users to enhance their creativity by coloring, scanning and interacting with their favorite characters while using a unique augmented reality mobile application.

Finally, Wise Toys will work to develop an AR activity box set that will offer a variety of activities and interactive experiences with Nickelodeon’s most popular characters.

“These smart toys will give fans a chance to interact with their favorite Nickelodeon characters in new and exciting ways,” says Dan Frugtniet, vice president, licensing and business development, NVCP. “We’re always looking for innovative ways to engage with consumers with Nickelodeon’s beloved personalities, so we’re very excited to partner with Wise Toys to put these interactive toys–with the latest technology–in the hands of fans around the globe.”

The first Nickelodeon-themed products are expected to hit shelves in Q1 of 2018 in multiple markets worldwide.
