Nickelodeon has picked up the new CG-animated series “Alvinnn!!! and The Chipmunks” for more than 70 Nickelodeon channels internationally (excluding North America and Brazil), in a distribution deal negotiated by PGS Entertainment.

The new series will mark the return of the franchise to television after 20 years. CG-animation will offer a fresh take on the classic adventures of Alvin, Theodore, Simon and the Chipettes and each episode will feature an original song.

Nickelodeon has picked up the series, produced by Bagdasarian Productions and OuiDO! Productions, for two seasons with the debut planned for early 2015.

“Alvinnn!!! and The Chipmunks is a property loved by fans around the world, so we’re delighted to bring this re-imagined series to a whole new generation of kids,” says Jules Borkent, senior vice president, global acquisitions and international programming, Nickelodeon, VIMN. “The new franchise will feature the fun-filled adventures of the Chipmunks and complement Nickelodeon’s existing lineup of funny, smart and entertaining kids’ content airing internationally.”
