Nelvana Enterprises is presenting an array of classic and new content this year at BLE including Beyblade, Pinkie Cooper and the Jet Set Pets, Trucktown and Vintage Babar.

Nelvana is showcasing new play patterns and content for its Beyblade franchise. 2013 saw a global reboot of the brand with Beyblade: Shogun Steel, which featured a new TV series, toys in the form of BeyWarriors from master toy licensee Hasbro and QSR promotions with Burger King, McDonald’s and Quick. Plans for 2014 include two all-new TV series co-produced by Nelvana and d-rights: “Beywarriors Beyraiderz” (spring 2014) and “Beywarriors Cyborg” (fall 2014).

Nelvana has teamed up with toy company The Bridge Direct for the Pinkie Cooper and the Jet Set Pets brand, a range of canine-inspired fashion dolls and accessories. The toy line was launched this summer in the U.S. and is also available in the U.K. and Russia. In support of the toy launch, Nelvana developed Pinkie Cooper digital content including seven, 3-minute original webisodes for the new Pinkie Cooper website and YouTube channel.

Trucktown, which follows the playful adventures of a group of rough and tumble young trucks, is based on the series of bestselling children’s books published by Simon & Schuster. Nelvana Studio has started production on an 80 x 11 preschool CGI animated series featuring the brand, which will air on Corus Entertainment’s Treehouse network in Canada in 2014.

Finally, the Vintage Babar property, which captures the heritage and legacy of the Babar brand, has seen a number of successful fashion extensions. Babar Meets Soulland is the latest fashion collaboration for the brand from Danish designer and Soulland chief executive officer Silas Alder. The line debuted with a high-fashion soiree at Colette in Paris and is available at several high-end international boutiques. The Vintage Babar brand is also launching in the U.K. market through agent ITV. The Babar brand is managed by Nelvana Enterprises, in collaboration with The Clifford Ross Company.
