NBCUniversal International Formats has sold its hit unscripted format "Top Chef" to Discovery Italia’s free-to-air channel Deejay.

The Italian version of the cooking competition will hit the airwaves in 2016.

"Top Chef Italia" will mark the format's 18th local production, with the total global audience reaching more than 110 million.

The Emmy award-winning series first aired on Bravo in the U.S. in 2006, where it is now in its 13th season.
