Entertainment One and the recently launched El Rey Network have signed an exclusive worldwide television distribution agreement under which eOne will handle the network’s growing slate of original scripted programming.

Launched in December 2013, the English-language cable network targets men ages 18-49 and Millennials and is available to more than 40 million subscribers domestically.

eOne’s new agreement with El Ray further positions the studio as a leading global distribution partner for top U.S. networks and follows on the studio’s September 2013 announcement that eOne has partnered with AMC Networks’ to exclusively distribute AMC and Sundance Channel ’s original scripted series internationally.

The first project under the new El Rey distribution deal is the upcoming series, "Matador,” a scripted thriller scheduled to debut this summer that explores the unlikely rise of Antonio “Matador” Bravo, a popular soccer star, playboy and covert CIA operative.

As part of the alliance, eOne will also handle the DVD and EST rights in the U.S. and Canada for El Rey’s supernatural crime saga “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series,” set to premiere March 11. Based on the film of the same name, the series is centered around a bank robber and his violent, unpredictable brother who are wanted by the FBI.

“With its penchant for working with highly talented, renowned creative partners, El Rey is poised to swiftly become one of the top destinations on television,” said John Morayniss, chief executive officer, eOne Television. “We are thrilled to establish this partnership, expand the global reach of their top-notch content and deliver the most innovative television to our partners worldwide.”?
