NORTH AMERICA–AMC and Mountain Dew have joined forces to launch a new augmented reality app, called “The Walking Dead Encounter,” to promote the upcoming eighth season of “The Walking Dead.”
“The Walking Dead Encounter” will allow fans to experience some of the show’s most iconic zombie walkers in the own real-world environments. Consumers will also be able to share their interactions via social media.
Additionally, Mountain Dew will feature “The Walking Dead” with on-pack and in-store branding as well as popular character images on more than 100 million individual Mountain Dew products.
The augmented reality app is now available for iOS and Android devices, and “The Walking Dead”-branded Mountain Dew products will be available in stores soon. The eighth season of “The Walking Dead” will premiere on Oct. 22 on AMC.
