VRWERX will add the classic spy series to its lineup, which already includes Paramount’s Paranormal Activity.

Paramount Pictures and VRWERX have joined forces to develop a new virtual reality game inspired by the movie franchise Mission: Impossible.

The video game will offer an original storyline inspired by the classic spy film franchise and will be available for a variety of platforms, including the HTC Vive, PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift.

“We love Mission: Impossible. We’re extraordinarily excited to enable audiences to experience firsthand the thrill of being an IMF agent in this high-tech, adrenaline-charged universe,” says Alex Barder, co-managing partner, VRWERX. “In addition to strategic gameplay, our proprietary movement system enables us to innovate running, climbing, fighting and many other impossible stunts the fabled franchise inspires.”

In addition, VRWREX is currently developing a VR game inspired by the Paranormal Activity franchise, titled “Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul.” The new game is slated to be released on HTC Vive, PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this year.

“Virtual reality is the perfect platform to offer fans a truly immersive experience of being part of the exciting Mission: Impossible franchise,” says LeeAnne Stables, president, worldwide licensing, Paramount Pictures. “Like Paranormal Activity, this VRWERX Mission: Impossible game will be a fully-interactive VR game and we know consumers will love the premise of playing as a smart and daring Mission IMF agent.”
