Universal Partnerships & Licensing has awarded independent U.K. publisher Centum Books the U.K. master format license for the upcoming film Minions.

Minions, the next film in Universal Pictures' and Illumination Entertainment's Despicable Me film franchise, will be released in the U.K. July 12.

The appointment comes after UP&L's successful collaborations with Centum for Despicable Me 2 and Jurassic World, and was brokered by UP&L's licensing agent CPLG.

Centum is planning a range of times that will include a junior novel, picture storybook, sticker book, activity book, poster book and annual.

"This contract extends our working relationship with Universal and Illumination, and we look forward to creating a range of titles that will be loved by the dedicated Minions fan base," says Fiona Macmillan, publishing director, Centum Books.
