

"Mind Candy, over the last few years, has become a lot more complex. We've gone from a one-product company to multiple products with multiple studios and staff based all around the world–the challenges have become a lot more complex," says Acton Smith in a video message on the Mind Candy blog. "I am self-aware enough to know that I am much better on the creative side of the business than on the operational side. It's time that I moved into more of a creative role to manage the creative side of Mind Candy. I have notebooks filled with sketches and ideas from the last two years for new characters and stories that we can create here at Mind Candy. This move will also allow me time to work on our current projects."

Current chief operating officer and chief financial officer Divinia Knowles will serve as interim president of the firm while a new CEO is sought. Acton Smith says the company is seeking a candidate from outside the organization with "entertainment, media and traditional big company experience" to fill the role.
