Platinum Films has struck a three-season deal for “Matt Hatter Chronicles” with Cartoon Network in Asia, just as the Simba Dickie Group is preparing to launch its toy line in India.

Seasons one and two of the series will premiere across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka this summer ahead of the debut of the third season later this year.

Master toy partner Simba (EMEA, India and Russia) will launch its toy range targeted at boys 5- to 10-years-old, which includes role play items, vehicles and action figures.

The Indian toy launch will be further bolstered by Platinum’s recent appointment of Dream Theatre to manage and execute a multi-category licensing program and cross-media retail and consumer marketing campaign in the country.

“We believe that the fabulous story content of Matt Hatter, partnered with the unbelievably creative team of Platinum Films, will be a wellspring for many innovative and successful toy products,” says Shree Narayan Sabharwal, business head, Simba Toys India. “This association is an extension of our commitment to meet the needs of our young Cartoon Network viewers and bring a smile to their faces.”
