Russian animated series “Masha and the Bear” is taking to the ice in 2015.

Ink Global, which represents the series for licensing and broadcasting, has brokered a deal with Slovakian company Comunique for a new dancing ice show. The show will combine dance and figure skating with 3D effects and will initially tour Slovakia and the Czech Republic before booking dates in additional EU countries.

The script, choreography, costumes and production design are all the work of Slovak and Czech authors and artists.

“Masha and the Bear isn’t your average kids brand and this isn’t your average ice show,” says Claus Tømming, global director, Ink Global. “Comunique is planning something new and innovative that represents a break from the norm, and this very much reflects what we are trying to do with Masha and the Bear.”

Masha and the Bear currently has more than 100 licensing partners on board across multiple categories including puzzles, confectionery, home décor, digital, toys and fashion.
