Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media has launched the 2016 Marvel Super Hero Spectacular campaign, a promotional effort that includes merchandise, promotions and activations.

Beginning today are six weeks of product launches, retail promotions and activities that will focus on core Marvel franchises, particularly Captain America, who will be the cornerstone of the campaign with an extensive merchandising program that fetes the character’s 75th anniversary. Partners supporting Marvel Super Hero Spectacular include Hasbro, LEGO, Jakks Pacific, Mattel and Funko, among many others.

Marvel has also developed an advertising and marketing program across TV, retail, gaming and home entertainment. Retailers, including Walmart, Target, Toys ‘R’ Us, Amazon, Kohl’s, Party City and Kmart, will support the promotion with in-store signage, events and special offers.

“Marvel Super Hero Spectacular allows fans to truly immerse themselves in the Marvel Universe and we work closely each year with our licensees and retail partners to create an extensive and impressive program that will satisfy their every Marvel need,” says Paul Gitter, senior vice president, licensing, Marvel, DCPI. “As the campaign continues to build momentum each year, Marvel Super Hero Spectacular shows a true inter-generational appeal for the Marvel brand and our fans’ loyalty.”

Marvel Super Hero Spectacular offerings are now available at mass, mid-tier and specialty retailers, as well as Disney Store locations and DisneyStore.com.

The promotion will run through Sept. 30.
