Lionsgate has entered into an agreement with Saban Brands to acquire the home entertainment distribution rights to “Julius Jr.,” the animated series inspired by the Paul Frank brand.

Lionsgate will serve as the exclusive distributor of the “Julius Jr.” product for all packaged media, EST and transactional video-on-demand rights in the U.S and Canada.

The deal builds on a long-standing relationship that has seen Lionsgate distribute Saban's television series “Power Rangers” in the home entertainment market. The two companies also announced a partnership to produce an original live-action theatrical feature film based on the Power Rangers, set to release in July 2016.

The second season of “Julius Jr.” will premiere this November on Nick Jr. Lionsgate’s initial home entertainment feature release “Julius, Jr.: Snow Monkey Adventures” will include six episodes and launch in December.

The “Julius Jr.: Snow Monkey Adventures” DVD package will also contain a full-size Julius Jr. figurine from Fisher-Price.
