LazyTown Entertainment has teamed up with the American Heart Association for a series of character appearances at Heart Walks across the U.S. this year.

The star of the TV series, Sportacus, will appear at up to 25 various Heart Walks across the country, the first of which will be this Saturday in Tulsa, Okla.

The appearances are part of an effort by the two organizations to inspire preschool children and their parents to get active and learn about heart health.

The American Heart Association, LazyTown and PBS Sprout have also created the “Sprout Family Challenge” app that encourages families to participate in healthy activities together.

“The American Heart Association does great work to combat the issue of heart disease through education and physical activity,” says Magnus Scheving, chief executive officer and creator, LazyTown. “As we expand our mission to inspire young children and families throughout the U.S. to make healthier lifestyle choices, these Heart Walks will be a great way for children and families to meet Sportacus in-person and get excited about getting active.”

The “LazyTown” TV series is broadcast in more than 170 countries worldwide. In the U.S., the third season will debut on Sprout in May.
