Nerd Corps Entertainment has extended its contract with toy partner Jakks Pacific for the boys’ action property Slugterra.

Jakks’ Slugterra toy line launched in the U.S. in February 2013 after the TV series premiered in October 2012. Originally consisting of collectible slug figures, blasters and darts, Jakks has since expanded its offerings to include human action figures, vehicles, plush and stretchy velocimorph flyers, as well as new styles of blasters and darts and several waves of new slug figures.

The fourth wave of slug figures is slated to hit shelves at Toys ‘R’ Us stores across the U.S. soon, along with a TRU-exclusive 10-pack that features the second wave of slugs.

“Jakks has been a fantastic partner for Slugterra,” says Ken Faier, president, Nerd Corps. “The toy line harnesses the property’s core values to create an awesome play experience for kids where they can collect slugs, battle each other and keep upgrading their equipment. We’re excited to see new toys developed and continue working together to bring Slugterra products to kids around the globe.”

The toys have launched in dozens of countries to date, with more coming as the series continues to launch on new broadcasters around the world.

“We are excited to be teaming up with Nerd Corps for another incredible year of Slugterra,” says John Blaney, executive vice president, marketing, Jakks Pacific. “This interactive line has been a favorite both domestically and internationally, and we look forward to creating new, innovative and exciting toys for Slugterra fans everywhere.”
