Skyhorse Publishing signs on as the first licensee for the upcoming military drama.

A+E Networks’ History Channel has tapped Skyhorse Publishing to produce two paperback novelizations tied to the first season of its upcoming drama series “Six.”

Screenland Literary Associates, which represents A+E Networks’ publishing business, brokered the deal.

Based on the true stories and recent historical events involving the U.S. Navy’s SEAL Team Six, the two novels will be adapted from the TV series’ original storylines and will aim to expand the drama beyond the screen.

“‘Six’s’ compelling storylines and insights into the secretive world of SEAL Team Six translates well to novelization and is a great way to introduce and cross-promote one of History’s most highly anticipated new series,” says Jill Tully, vice president, A+E Networks Brand Licensing. “Skyhorse Publishing shares our passion for storytelling and goal to create a seamless experience for readers that captures the extraordinary lives and events depicted in the series.”

The first novelization, Six: Blood Brothers, will be published in January 2017 and is currently available for pre-order at Amazon.com, BarnesAndNoble.com, BooksaMillion.com and at independent bookstores. The second book will launch in line with the show’s season finale.

“Skyhorse has a great love for exciting stories and ‘Six’ has those in spades,” says Tony Lyons, president and publisher, Skyhorse. “We’re thrilled to partner with A+E Networks on what is sure to be a riveting series and the beginning of a beautiful relationship.”

“Six” is set to debut on the History Channel, Jan. 18, 2017.
