The Jim Henson Company has tapped the HBO network to air digitally re-mastered episodes of the classic 1980s TV series “Fraggle Rock.”

The new HD version of “Fraggle Rock” is being presented to international buyers for the first time during MIPJunior and MIPCom events, taking place this week in Cannes, France.

“HBO was the initial home for the U.S. premiere of ‘Fraggle Rock’ in 1983, and it’s fitting that the network premieres this beautifully remastered version of the series,” says Richard Goldsmith, executive vice president, global distribution, The Jim Henson Company.

The series has 96 episodes, featuring 100 original songs, in its catalog that have been seen in more than 98 countries over its lifetime.
