Abrams Artist Agency is reinvigorating the iconic Grizzly Adams through a brand-new, multi-platform licensing program.
John “Grizzly” Adams is best known for his adventures in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, where he built a cabin and raised and trained grizzly bears–one of which, Samson, is featured on the California state flag. His legend was the inspiration for the 1974 movie The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams and the 1977-78 TV series.
Under licenses from and in collaboration with Tod Swindell, owner of the Grizzly Adams brand rights, Abrams will work across its multiple divisions including literary, licensing, theatrical and digital/alternative programming to develop a broad-based Grizzly Adams franchise.
“Grizzly Adams is an iconic outdoorsman, and both his real history and his legend remain inspirations that influence contemporary popular culture,” says Harry Abrams, chief executive officer, Abrams Artists Agency. “As such an amazing part of American history, Grizzly Adams presents a great opportunity to create a robust lifestyle brand with strong appeal to today’s consumers.”
