Available now for free on Google Play and in the Apple App Store in the U.S., the app features larger images and bold icons for child-sized hands, voice search for kids who can't yet type, a timer to limit kids' screen time and various parental controls.

The app features a curated selection of age-appropriate content in four categories–shows, music, learning and explore–and will soon also be available on the Kurio and Nabi kids' tablets.

Among the channels available at launch are DreamWorksTV, Jim Henson TV, Mother Goose Club, National Geographic Kids, Reading Rainbow and more.

At the same time, Outfit7 announced that the TV series for its app brand "Talking Tom and Friends" would debut on the platform in April.
