AUSTRALIA–FremantleMedia has tapped Chris Oliver-Taylor to serve as chief executive officer of FremantleMedia Australia.

In his new role, Oliver-Taylor will become a part of the Fremantle operating board and will oversee the company’s overall management and business performance across Australia and New Zealand. He will also lead the development and production of its programming, which includes titles such as “American Idol,” “The Young Pope,” and “The X Factor,” among others.

Most recently, Oliver-Taylor served as managing director of Matchbox Pictures, an NBCUniversal-owned production company. He will assume his position as chief executive officer later this year.
