ASIA–FremantleMedia Kids & Family has partnered with several new publishing partners to develop new titles, as well as adapt several titles into the Chinese language, for “Tree Fu Tom” and “Kate & Mim-Mim.”

First, Beijing Integrity and Sunshine Cultural Development Co. has acquired the rights to adapt the 17 “Tree Fu Tom” books from Penguin U.K. into the Chinese language.

Meanwhile, Beijing Ruoqing Culture Media Co. will develop its own collection of storybooks and activity books based on FremantleMedia’s preschool program “Kate & Mim-Mim.”

The agreements also mark FremantleMedia’s first-ever licensing deals in China.

Additionally, “Tree Fu Tom” recently premiered in China on CCTV 14, China’s leading children’s channel, and is currently available to stream on Alibaba’s YoukuTudou, iQiyi, Tencent, Sohu, LETV, Mango TV and Lekan.

“We are committed to becoming one of the most successful western kids and family entertainment companies working in the region and this exposure on China’s No. 1 children’s channel and its leading digital platforms gives us a far-reaching footprint in the country and unprecedented brand support,” says Henry Or, senior vice president, Asia, FremantleMedia Kids & Family. “We are also delighted to sign our first licensing deals in China, which we are sure will prove the first of many successful partnerships.”
