Scripps Networks Interactive is launching culinary and lifestyle channel Food Network on DirecTV across various countries in Latin America.

First launched in Brazil, the channel will now reach more than six million viewers across the region.

“Expanding Food Network’s distribution in Latin America is a testament to Scripps Networks’ commitment to expanding the company’s regional footprint and to building scale for our international division,” says Jim Samples, president, Scripps Networks International. “DirecTV is a leading provider in the region, and we are proud to have an agreement with them to offer a premium 24/7 food lifestyle channel to their subscribers and to build Food Network’s profile in the region.”

The network will feature such global TV series as “Chopped,” “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives,” “Iron Chef America” and “Bobby Flay’s Barbecue Addiction.”
