The PortAventura Resort in Salou, Spain, has broken ground on its new Ferrari Land theme park, set to open at the end of 2016.

Ferrari Land will cover an area of more than 800,000-square-feet and offer a range of attractions inspired by the classic car brand and its Prancing Horse logo.

With the addition of Ferrari Land, PortAventura Resort will boast the largest number of theme parks in Europe (three total). PortAventura Resort currently receives more than 4 million visitors a year, half of whom come from international markets.

“From the outset, we have been clear about our intention to develop a long-term plan based on world-class international brands, with the aim of boosting the number of visitors and making PortAventura the best resort destination in Europe,” says Sergio Feder, executive chairman, PortAventura. “We are very proud to be collaborating with an iconic brand like Ferrari that enjoys huge prestige across the planet and to be developing Ferrari Land Park together, exclusively for the whole of Europe.”
