Sony Pictures Consumer Products has tapped apparel manufacturer Bioworld as the first licensee for ABC’s No. 1 new comedy series, “The Goldbergs.”

A family sitcom set in the ’80s, SPCP plans to capitalize on the nostalgia trend in its licensing program, beginning with Bioworld’s line of t-shirts.

The first assortment of tees will sport images of “The Goldbergs” cast, catchphrases from the series and lost-but-beloved icons of the ’80s such as VHS tapes, cassettes, brick-sized mobile phones and leg warmers.

Some of the designs will be created with an authentic vintage feel, as though the t-shirts were actually printed in the ’80s.
