The "Peppa Pig" brand continues to grow in Brazil, with 45 licensees signed on just one year after the brand's merchandise launch.

The show first aired on Discovery Kids Brazil at the end of 2013, with eOne and licensing agent Exim launching a consumer products program shortly thereafter in 2014.

Now the brand boasts close to 50 licensees in the region across 15 categories including toys, footwear, publishing and live events. In fact, more than 35,000 people have seen the live show "Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt," which toured seven Brazilian cities.

Plans for 2015 include new DVD releases and a number of retail events. A new partnership with BRmalls will see events in 12 locations in cities including São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador throughout the year. Additionally, an event will be held at Riachuelo’s flagship store at Oscar Freire Street April 11 to launch the new 'Peppa Pig' apparel collection.

“The public reaction to 'Peppa Pig' in Brazil since we launched broadcast and licensing has been phenomenal,” says Ami Dieckman, head of international licensing, Entertainment One Licensing. “The TV show has a rapidly growing fan base and demand for consumer products has exceeded our expectations. Brazilian licensees and retailers have really got behind the brand, and we’re committed to nurturing this growth so that 'Peppa' remains a leading preschool property in the country for many years to come.”
