Entertainment One Licensing is building momentum for the Peppa Pig brand in Russia and the Ukraine with the appointment of a regional licensing agent and a number of licensees.

Megalicense International has been appointed as the brand’s agent in the region, where the TV series airs on Russia’s dedicated children’s channel Karusel and on PlusPlus in the Ukraine.

Megalicense International will now oversee the development of the preschool brand in these emerging markets.

Licensing is already underway with Rosman on board for the toys, publishing and arts and craft categories in Russia and Kiddisvit for toys in the Ukraine. Rosman is planning to launch plush, wooden toys, bath toys and Mini World of Peppa Pig collectible products this October, in addition to the core plastic lines from Character Options.

Other early adopters to the Peppa licensing program in the region include publishing giant Panini, Perfetti Van Melle for confectionary, Alisa for ELA, Kidstime for watches and Hamley’s for retail promotions for in the run up to the holiday season. Apparel, footwear, accessories, housewares and publishing part works will be added in 2015.

“We’re thrilled to be welcoming Megalicense International to the eOne family,” says Andrew Carley, head of global licensing, eOne. “I’m in no doubt that they will identify new opportunities for the brand and that Peppa will benefit from their extensive experience of the Russian and Ukrainian markets.”
