DreamWorks Animation has appointed Spin Master as the worldwide master toy partner for its Dragons franchise, which includes a TV series and an upcoming feature film sequel.

As the master toy partner for 2009’s How to Train Your Dragon, Spin Master is already familiar with the property and plans to release a toy line based on the Cartoon Network series “DreamWorks Dragons: Riders of Berk” this fall.

The new line will include role play and interactive items like the Giant Fire Breathing Toothless figure, which actually breathes blue fire and steam.

“Spin Master was a wonderful partner for us on How to Train Your Dragon–one of our biggest consumer products program yet–and we look forward to building on this relationship as we grow the franchise in a number of innovative ways,” says Kerry Phelan, head of worldwide licensing and consumer products, DreamWorks Animation. “Kids can’t seem to get enough of Dragons, and this line provides the perfect opportunity for them to relive their favorite moments from the film as well as create their own Viking and dragon adventures.”

Spin Master will release additional product for the sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2, which will hit theatres July 20, 2014.
