Dr. Seuss Enterprises, a children’s entertainment company, has announced it is teaming up with Vacasa, a North American vacation rental management platform, to create an experience from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” The holiday story book and animated film will be brought to life for a limited time, giving holiday revelers the chance to experience the Grinch and his dog Max’s home.
Travelers, families and Grinch fans can book his infamous cave on Vacasa.com; guests can book a stay starting Dec. 3 for visits from Dec. 13 - 23. Located “Three thousand feet up, Up the side of Mt. Crumpit,” the cave is set on the outskirts of town, just outside Boulder, Utah, on a remote property.
The Grinch’s rocky residence is within a hand-carved cave on the side of a massive stone mountain. True to the beloved Dr. Seuss tale, the cave will have all the details from the Grinch's Mt. Crumpit home. Designers have decked the halls of this multi-level 5,700-square-foot lair with Grinch items. There’s a kitchen stocked with roastable beast, Who-pudding and an emergency stash of Who-hash. A music room includes the Grinch's organ alongside Max’s drum set leading into the study, main bedroom, guest bedroom and more. Everywhere they go, visitors will be completely immersed in the world of the Grinch. Even more, the house is outfitted with all of Grinch's gadgets, including his coffee machine, armoire with green furry pants and all the kitchen supplies to host a feast.
The Grinch will not be at the cave to greet visitors. “I just don’t really want to. Now go away,” says the Grinch.
Interested visitors are encouraged to visit Vacasa.com/Grinch for a 3D tour of the cave and to mark their calendars for booking release times.
