DHX Media has licensed its new original teen performing arts drama “Backstage” to Disney Channel in multiple territories including the U.S., U.K., France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Nordics, Benelux, Germany, CEE, Turkey, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand­.

“Backstage” was created and developed by Fresh TV, in association with DHX Television. The show is a scripted series, shot docudrama-style, and follows a group of teenagers living through the highs and lows that come with attending a prestigious performing arts school.

It is slated to air on the Family Channel in Canada and on Disney Channel in the U.S. and U.K. this spring, with international roll out scheduled for later this year.
