People from around the world will unite in a global sing-along as Disney Parks & Resorts celebrates the 50th anniversary of the attraction It's a Small World.

The ride opened as a tribute to peace and hope at the 1964 New York World's Fair.

On April 10, guests and cast members at Disneyland Resort in California, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan, Disneyland Paris in France and Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will sing the theme song of the "happiest cruise that ever sailed the seven seas." Fans from around the world can join the festivities online by recording a video of themselves singing the classic song and creating a virtual It's a Small World doll.

The Walt Disney Company will donate $150,000 to UNICEF in honor of the anniversary plus $1 for every sing-along video recorded on SmallWorld50.com as well as another $1 for every virtual doll created on the website, up to $100,000.

Disney Stores is also joining in on the fun with the It’s A Small World doll collection, available now at stores across the U.S. Additionally, from April 10-13, Disney Store will invite kids on an imaginary boat ride around the globe, where they will learn how to say "hello" in various languages and sing "It's a Small World" along the way.
