Soo Koo will lead product design and development for Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products has appointed Soo Koo, who formerly severed as vice president of product development for Disney Consumer Products, as its new chief creative officer.

The hire follows the January appointment of fellow Disney veteran Pam Lifford to helm Warner Bros.' consumer products division after long-time president Brad Globe stepped down last year. Check out License! Global's exclusive profile of Lifford in the recently released May issue.

In her new role, Koo will lead the global strategy for all product design and development for WBCP’s portfolio of properties ranging from DC Comics’ superheroes to classic animations such as “Looney Tunes.” She will also set a clear creative vision to bridge product development and creative execution across all franchises and content providers.

Prior to joining WBCP, Koo also held a number of other roles at Disney in addition to VP of product development including vice president of fashion and home creative for DCP and Disney Stores. While with Disney, Koo spearheaded the creative vision for the consumer products division across apparel, accessories, footwear, beauty and home and also forged successful retail, design and licensing partnerships with brands such as Forever 21, Vans, Stella McCartney, Sephora and Marc Jacobs. She was credited for building Disney’s profile within the global fashion space.

“Soo’s expertise in growing new and existing brands through strategic partnerships and innovative product designs will play a pivotal role in bringing fashionable, trend-right products to market,” says Pam Lifford, president, WBCP. “Soo shares my belief that product is king and I look forward to working closely with her and the creative team at WBCP to develop innovative, high-quality and beautifully designed products for consumers of all ages.”
