Disney is gearing up for the debut of the TV movie, Descendants, its biggest Disney Channel movie production since High School Musical, which sees classic characters reimagined for a new audience.

The studio is offering a selection of licensing and retail opportunities across all categories ahead of the movie's premiere in 2015.

The live-action adventure-comedy stars the teenage offspring of Disney’s most iconic evil villains, including Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar and Cruella de Vil.

The global movie event will be introduced through a fully integrated marketing campaign across all areas of The Walt Disney Company including Disney channels, licensing, Disney Stores, publishing and music.

Descendants is one of the most ambitious movies Disney Channel has made to-date, and we have high expectations of its success,” says Simon Philips, executive vice president and general manager, consumer products, The Walt Disney Company EMEA. “Bringing to life an epic Disney universe featuring classic characters re-imagined for a contemporary audience, this new property is a key component of our long-term licensing strategy.”
