Platinum Films has appointed License Connection to manage licensing, merchandising and promotions for its Matt Hatter Chronicles property in Benelux following the news that Disney XD will begin airing the show in spring 2014.

Seasons one and two of the CG-animated series will premiere next year on Disney XD across the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Dutch-speaking Belgium, supported by online content from Disney and a consumer product roll out.

License Connection will spearhead the product launch in the region with promotional retail tie-ins and consumer marketing campaigns.

“Matt Hatter Chronicles is an exciting and groundbreaking boys’ franchise and the perfect addition to License Connection’s brand portfolio. Our aim is to establish Matt Hatter as the must-have boys’ brand in Benelux,” says Daphne Kellerman, managing director, License Connection.

To date the series has been sold in more than 80 countries worldwide.

“The momentum behind Matt Hatter is phenomenal and this latest deal is testament to the strength of the property and its huge international appeal,” says Natalie Llewellyn, head of international programming, Platinum Films. “We are delighted to be partnering with Disney Benelux, and we are confident that the series will powerfully resonate with Disney audiences both on-air and online, just as it has done in other territories around the world.”
