Koko Media is taking Jo Rose’s original IP Deer Little Forest to the next level in a development deal with King Rollo Films the see the brand adapted into an animated TV series.

King Rollo Films will work with Jo Rose to produce the 26 x 11 preschool show.

Deer Little Forest stars the feisty Forest Flo and her band of magical and musical woodland friends.

“Now and again you come across a preschool property that makes your heart beat a little faster–Deer Little Forest is one of those," says Leo Nielsen, founder and president, King Rollo. "We can’t wait to bring this fantastic set of characters to life.”

Deer Little Forest is also being developed as a preschool picture book series, with the first book, The Animal Moon Parade, under submission with publishers in the U.K., U.S., Germany, France, Italy, Nordics and the Netherlands.

First launched as a licensing brand at BLE in 2013, Deer Little Forest has generated a number deals over the last year including stationery deals in the U.K. (Paperchase, Rizzoli Bookshop/Somerset House, Timbergram), Finland (Karto) and Russia (ZPR/Art & Design) and an apparel deal (T-shirt Booth.

All rights are managed Koko Media, excluding North America, which is managed by Think Tank Emporium.
