DC to Fete the Dark Knight

This year’s event will include a host of Batman-themed events at comic book retailers, bookstores, schools, libraries and more across the globe.

Key retail partners include Indigo, Books-A-Million, Barnes & Noble and more.

To mark the occasion, fans who visit participating retailers will have the chance to pick up the first chapter of

Batman: White Knight,

written and drawn by Sean Murphy, a month before the collector’s edition release. The book will contain a preview of another upcoming DC Black Label comic,

Batman: Damned

by Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo. Younger Batman enthusiasts can get their hands on the first chapter of

Batman: A Lot Of Li’l Gotham.

DC has given each retailer a variety of offerings, such as an online activity kit to celebrate the occasion further.

Digital readers can celebrate the masked hero with the Batman Day digital sale on Sept. 11-17. The event will offer hundreds of Batman eBooks for purchase at ReadDC.com, comiXology.com, Google Play, Amazon Kindle, Barnes

& Noble Nook and iTunes. The publishing deals were made possible through DC’s partners HarperCollins, Random House Children’s Books, Penguin Random House, DK, Simon & Schuster and Scholastic.

Batman Day kicks off Sept. 15.

DC will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Dark Knight with a year-long celebration in 2019.
