Classic publishing and film brand extends merchandising program with toys, games, suitcases and publishing.

The Copyrights Group has tapped a slate of licensees to develop new products based on the upcoming film Paddington 2, which is set to hit U.K. theaters this November.

First, for spring, Rainbow Designs has signed on to launch two plush toys, titled Dancing Paddington and Cycling Paddington, to its Talk to Me Paddington and My Name is Paddington plush range, which launched last year.

Ravensburger is set to debut a 60-piece floor puzzle, a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle and a four-in-a-box puzzle based on the movie.

Meanwhile, PMS International will release a number of branded coloring and activity lines under its retail arm Gosh! Designs.

University Games will also add Paddington Spot the Difference and Paddington Color On to its games lineup. Additionally, a Paddington board game is also in development for this fall/winter.

Furthermore, for summer, Trunki will introduce the Paddington character to its ride on suitcase range.

Finally, Redan will launch a standalone Paddington magazine for November, just ahead of the film’s launch.

“We are delighted to be working with these fantastic new toy partners,” says Rachel Clarke, licensing director, The Copyrights Group. “Their products are a fabulous addition to the already extensive ongoing Paddington merchandising program and will be launching ahead of the hugely anticipated Paddington 2 movie in November 2017.”
