The sportswear giant is honoring the classic film with three limited edition jackets inspired by the franchises’ iconic characters.

GLOBAL–Columbia Sportswear has unveiled Echo Base, a three-piece limited edition collection that commemorates the 1980 release of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

A nod to the costumes worn by Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker, the officially licensed collection was designed in collaboration with Lucasfilm and its archives team to capture and incorporate intricate details of the original jackets worn in the film. Columbia has also developed an Archive Edition parka inspired by Han Solo’s dark brown jacket worn on planet Hoth.

Columbia has also partnered with Harrison Ford to benefit the Conservation International, a global organization dedicated to the protection of nature. Through the agreement, Ford has hand-signed each of the Han Solo Archive Edition parkas and Columbia will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from their sale to the charity.

The Columbia x Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back jackets are available in limited quantities on Columbia.com/StarWars and at Columbia retail locations across the world. Furthermore, to commemorate the 1980 release date of the cult classic, only 1980 jackets of each style of the Echo Base collection have been produced.
