Cloudbabies Adds Trio of Partners

Hoho Rights has signed three new publishing partners for its preschool property Cloudbabies for magazine and game apps and an annual.

Hoho  Rights has signed three new publishing partners for its preschool property Cloudbabies for magazine and game apps and an annual.

In an extension of its existing partnership with Immediate Media Company, Hoho has now partnered with the publisher for a magazine app that will bring the print magazine to the digital market. Cloudbabies is currently featured in the CBeebies Weekly magazine and a dedicated Cloudbabies special is planned for this spring.

Hoho has also secured a second deal with Studio Liddell, which also produces the animation of the series, to create a game and music app inspired by the key themes from show.

Finally, Hoho Rights has teamed up with Century Books for a Cloudbabies annual, due out this fall.

The Century Books annual will join a line of books from Penguin’s Ladybird imprint, which will hit shelves early this month. Last fall, Vivid toy launched its toy line for the series, which includes plush, puzzles, figurines and a Cloudyhouse play set.

"Building on the huge success of ‘Cloudbabies’ on CBeebies, we're thrilled to announce these new deals,” says Helen Howells, joint managing director, Hoho Entertainment. “Apps are a great way for our young audience to interact with Baba Pink, Baba Blue, Baba Yellow, Baba Green and their friends. It's especially pleasing to be working on an app with Studio Liddell as they are so immersed in the brand, and we think that the annual will be a lovely addition to our other published formats."
