CBS Consumer Products has partnered with the Royal Canadian Mint to launch a series of collectible coins in celebration of “Star Trek’s” 50th anniversary.

The new collection of coins will include a $10 silver coin series featuring four of the most iconic “Star Trek” characters–Kirk, Scotty, Uhura and Spock–as well as technology made famous by the show, such as the phaser and communicator.

The collection also includes $20 silver coins featuring the U.S.S. Enterprise and classic scenes from the original “Star Trek” series; a $200 pure gold coin featuring the Delta Shield insignia; and a 25-cent colored coin and stamp set featuring the U.S.S Enterprise.

“For 50 years, ‘Star Trek’ captured the imagination of countless fans by entertaining us while opening our eyes to the possibilities of science and the wonders of our vast universe,” says Sandra Hanington, president and chief executive officer, Royal Canadian Mint. “The Mint is proud to celebrate a cultural phenomenon that has carved a space in the hearts and minds of Canadians and fellow ‘Star Trek’ fans all over Planet Earth.”

The “Star Trek” coin range is available for pre-order now at Mint.ca. The coins will also be available at the Royal Canadian Mint’s boutiques in Ottawa, Winnipeg and Vancouver, as well as through the Mint’s global network of distributors.
