Fiftieth anniversary celebration to take place next August in Las Vegas.

Creation Entertainment and CBS Consumer Products will host the Official Star Trek 50th Anniversary Convention next summer in Las Vegas, Nev. The event will take place Aug. 3-7, 2016 at The Rio Suites Hotel.

The five-day convention will feature more than 100 "Star Trek" celebrities from TV and film. The event will include an exploration of "Star Trek’s" set designs; highlight the franchise's foreshadowing of current technologies; and showcase costumes, prop displays and more alongside convention-only giveaways. More details of the convention will be announced over the coming year.
