Larkshead Media is on board to extend “Numberblocks” into categories like toys, publishing and apparel.

EUROPE–Alphablocks has tapped media services company Larkshead Media to manage the U.K. licensing program for its animated CBeebies series “Numberblocks.”

Through the partnership agreement, Larkshead Media will initially target licensees in categories including toys, jigsaw puzzles, games, cards, publishing and apparel. The company will also work to secure partnerships and promotions with educational groups.

“We are delighted to be working with Larkshead Media, a respected organization with an excellent reputation in realizing the potential of a wide variety of children’s properties,” says Joe Elliot, creator, “Numberblocks.” “It certainly understands the potential of ‘Numberblocks,’ a show that enjoys a strong following and has enormous long-term licensing potential across a wide range of categories.”

“Numberblocks” debuted on CBeebies in January 2017 and follows a group of friendly characters made of counting blocks, representing the numbers one through 10. Each character can be magically transformed into other characters by adding or removing blocks, and during each episode, the characters aim to teach children how to count, add and understand how numbers really work.

“In my many years working with children’s properties, I’ve found very few that bring together learning and fun as delightfully as ‘Numberblocks,’” says Clare Piggott, director, licensing and merchandising, Larkshead Media. “Its potential, in entertainment, education and licensed output, is significant. I’m looking forward to developing ‘Numberblocks’ into a long-term franchise that helps support children and parents learning together across many product categories.”

Larkshead Media will launch its licensing campaign for “Numberblocks” during Brand Licensing Europe, Oct. 10-12, at the Stand #F14.
