Breakthrough Entertainment has been tapped to represent the Anne of Green Gables film and book franchise for licensing into new merchandise categories.

Corus Entertainment’s YTV recently launched the first installment of the new film series inspired by L.M. Montgomery’s classic novel. Two more films have been ordered and will air in 2017 and 2018. Today, Montgomery’s granddaughter, Kate Macdonald Butler manages the brand through Anne of Green Gables Licensing Authority and serves as executive producer on the films.

Breakthrough’s five-year, global deal will take the property into new licensed product categories.

“Our family and the Anne Authority have chosen to broaden the scope of our relationship with Breakthrough Entertainment because of the integrity with which they have maintained the legacy of my Grandmother's cherished work,” says Macdonald Butler. “We are working closely with the executives at Breakthrough to ensure that legacy continues for another hundred years."
