Rovio Entertainment has appointed the first-ever Italian licensing agent for the "Angry Birds" brand–Maurizio Distefano Licensing.

The appointment is the first of several upcoming regional agency appoints at as Rovio reboots the "Angry Birds" franchise in preparation for the Angry Birds film, which will be released in May 2016.

Maurizio Distefano Licensing is now working on a wide range of areas for licensing in the Italian market including toys, games, confectionery, giftware, house ware, accessories, apparel, plush, back-to-school, stationery, backpacks, dress-up and more. First licensees are expected to be announced this fall, will products slated to hit shelves in late spring, in conjunction with the film’s release.
