GLOBAL–Amazon Studios is continuing its initiative to deliver original kids’ content with the premiere of “Lost in Oz” on Prime Video, one of four new series slated to debut on the streaming service this year.

Amazon Continues Original Content Push

New kids’ “Lost in Oz” joins other original content such as “Just Add Magic,” “Annedroids” and “Tumble Leaf” on Prime Video.

GLOBAL–Amazon Studios is continuing its initiative to deliver original kids’ content with the premiere of “Lost in Oz” on Prime Video, one of four new series slated to debut on the streaming service this year.

Amazon Studios began introducing original kids’ content on Prime Video in 2014 with “Tumble Leaf,” which follows Fig, a curious blue fox, and his best friend Stick, a quirky caterpillar, as they embark on a nature-filled adventure.

Today the streaming service boasts 14 original kids’ titles including “Just Add Magic,” “Annedroids,” “Dino Dana,” “Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street,” “Danger & Eggs” and “An American Girl Story,” which consists of four separate specials.

Amazon’s newest series “Lost in Oz,” which expands on the Amazon Original 2016 special “Lost in Oz: Extended Adventure,” is a modern adaptation of the

Oz

books by L. Frank Baum and follows 12-year-old Dorothy Gale after she discovers her mother’s magical travel journal hidden beneath the floorboards of their Kansas

home. After triggering a tornado, which rips her house from its foundations and transports Dorothy and her dog, Toto, to Emerald City, she learns that she must acquire every element on Oz’s “periodic table of magic” in order to get home.

In addition to “Lost in Oz,” three other series are slated to debut this year: “Niko and the Sword of Light,” “Sigmund and the Sea Monsters” and “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.”

Although the new TV show is not directly related to Warner Bros. Consumer Products’

Wizard of Oz

property, the series will likely benefit from the popularity of the classic brand and has the opportunity to extend into similar categories for children. In recent years, for example, WBCP has unveiled a score of

Wizard of Oz

merchandise including puzzles, collectibles, dolls, costumes, drinkware, plush toys and more.

To celebrate the debut of “Lost in Oz,” Amazon Studios welcomed children to a premiere screening event at Los Angeles’s NeueHouse on Tuesday. Following the premiere, children were invited to participate in a host of themed activities such as creating their own bubble portals or ozonium, the rarest magic in Oz. The event also included a variety of photo opportunities and themed treats.

“Lost in Oz” is now available on Prime Video in the U.S. and U.K.
